Learning comes to life in the Lower School Engagement Lab!

This dynamic space invites our Gators to engage their senses, explore new ideas, and discover that there is more than one way to learn. Today, our KinderGators are putting teamwork and collaboration into action as they work together, share ideas, solve problems, and learn from one another.

Because when children have the space to explore, create, move, and collaborate, learning becomes an experience they can see, feel, and remember.

What does a day in the life of a Grace Gator look like? We invite you to follow along with our “Day in the Life” mini-series over the next three weeks!

This week, we are starting with our Primary Gators, where learning is active, hands-on, and full of discovery. Chapel, motor skills, art, Spanish, music, yoga, and STEM create a day filled with movement, creativity, exploration, and meaningful connection.

Interactive learning and parallel play help our youngest Gators build confidence, independence, communication, and social skills while learning alongside their classmates. Every experience is thoughtfully designed to help children grow as learners and as people.

And today was extra special! Our Teddy Bear Picnic brought our Gators and their families together for an afternoon filled with smiles, connection, and the kind of moments that make a school feel like home.

This is more than a look at a typical day. It is a glimpse into the Grace experience and the foundation we are building for every Gator who walks through our doors. A special thank you to our little Gators, and their families, for allowing us to tag along for the day!

In the middle of an ordinary day, standard numbers turn into quiet moments of reflection. We see them on our clocks, our scoreboards, and in our classrooms, subtle reminders that memory lives in the spaces we walk every day.

Our middle school Gators are taking robotics to the next level with VEX V5, where they are not simply building robots. They are designing, testing, programming, troubleshooting, and reengineering them for a purpose.

The challenge? Build a robot that can dribble, maneuver, and score.

Students design custom attachments, test them on the field, figure out what is not working, go back to the drawing board, and make it better. Then, they put their creations head-to-head in a competitive game of Robosoccer.

Along the way, they are developing the kind of thinking that engineers, programmers, and innovators use every day: problem solving, strategy, collaboration, creativity, coding, and iteration.

This is not robotics as a “build it and move on” experience.

This is middle school students designing solutions, learning from failure, and pushing technology to perform better.

Stomp. Flutter. Fly.

Our Primary Gators turned into dinosaurs, butterflies, and launched airplanes as they learned to match sound to movement and put their gross motor skills into action.

Little feet stomped across the room. Wings fluttered through the air. Planes soared from one side of the classroom to the other. Every sound became a cue, every movement had a purpose, and every moment invited our Gators to slow down, tune in, and move with intention.

This is mindful movement in action: building coordination, balance, body awareness, focus, and confidence through the simple joy of play. Because at Grace, learning doesn’t always happen sitting still. Sometimes, it sounds like a dinosaur stomp, looks like butterfly wings, and feels like the freedom to move, explore, and discover. 💙🐊
